Ephesians: Living in Unity

United in God’s Grace (Ephesians 1:1–6:24)

In Ephesians, Paul celebrates God’s amazing grace given to believers through Jesus Christ. He teaches that God chose us before the world began and adopted us into His family. Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, we are forgiven and made alive with Him. Salvation is a gift—we are saved by grace through faith, not by our own works. Everything we have in Christ shows God’s incredible love.

Paul also explains that believers are united with one another. In the past, Jews and Gentiles were separated, but Jesus broke down every wall that divided them. Now, all who trust in Christ are part of one body, the church. We are God’s people together, called to live in peace and unity.

As God’s family, we should live in a way that reflects His character. Paul encourages believers to walk in love, speak the truth, forgive others, and avoid sinful behavior. He reminds us that we are God’s workmanship—created to do good works that honor Him. Through the Holy Spirit, we can show kindness, patience, and humility to others.

Paul also gives guidance for family and relationships. He teaches husbands and wives to love and respect one another like Christ and the church. Children should obey their parents, and parents should lovingly guide their children. In every relationship, believers are called to reflect Jesus’ love.

At the end of the letter, Paul describes the armor of God—spiritual tools like faith, truth, prayer, and God’s Word that help us stand strong against evil. Ephesians teaches that we are united by God’s grace, called to live differently, and strengthened by His power every day.
