We read these words in Proverbs 3:5–6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” These verses speak to anyone who has ever felt unsure about what to do next.
Imagine walking through a forest with many twisting trails. Some paths look easy but lead nowhere. Others seem harder but take you safely home. Without a guide, it is easy to choose the wrong way. Life can feel like that forest. We make decisions about family, work, and the future, often unsure which path is right.
Leaning on our own understanding means trusting only what we can see and figure out. But our view is limited. We do not know what tomorrow holds. God, however, sees the whole journey. When we trust Him with all our heart, we admit that His wisdom is greater than ours.
Submitting to Him does not mean giving up thinking. It means inviting Him into every choice. Through prayer, Scripture, and wise counsel, we seek His direction. Step by step, He guides us in ways that honor Him and protect us.
Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us that we are not meant to walk alone. When we trust God fully, He clears the way before us and leads us where we truly need to go.
