The Lord Is With Us

Psalm 46:11 says, “The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.” These words repeat a powerful truth: we are not alone.

Imagine a small town facing a sudden crisis. Sirens sound, people rush indoors, and fear spreads quickly. In the middle of the chaos, a trusted leader stands up and says, “We will face this together.” His steady voice brings calm to anxious hearts.

Psalm 46 was written in a time when nations fought and the ground itself seemed to shake. Yet in the middle of that uncertainty, the psalmist declares that God is present. He is not distant or unaware. He stands with His people.

Calling God a fortress paints a clear picture. A fortress is strong, protective, and secure. When life feels unstable, God remains steady. His strength does not fail, even when ours does.

Psalm 46:11 reminds us that our confidence does not rest in circumstances. It rests in God’s presence. Whatever we face today—fear, change, or uncertainty—we can hold on to this promise: the Lord is with us. In Him, we find shelter, courage, and peace.
