Romans 8:38–39 offers a powerful promise. The apostle Paul writes that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. These words speak to deep fears that often hide in our hearts.
Imagine standing on a shoreline during a strong storm. Waves crash, wind howls, and everything feels uncertain. You might wonder what could possibly hold firm in such chaos. Paul reminds us that God’s love is stronger than any storm we face.
He lists many extremes—life and death, height and depth, present and future. These cover every direction and every season. No matter what we experience, nothing has the power to pull us away from God’s love. It is not fragile or temporary. It does not depend on our success or failure.
There are moments when we feel distant from God. Guilt, suffering, or doubt can whisper that we are alone. But feelings do not change truth. God’s love is not based on how steady we feel; it is based on who He is.
Romans 8:38–39 invites us to rest in security. Whatever today brings, we are held by a love that cannot be broken. In Christ, we are never beyond His reach.
