I AM With You

God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.'” – Exodus 3:14 (NIV)

When God spoke to Moses from the burning bush, He revealed His name as “I AM WHO I AM” (Exodus 3:14). This name shows that God simply is. He does not depend on anyone or anything. He has always existed and always will. In a changing world, God remains steady and sure.

This name also tells us that God is present. “I AM” means He is here, now. He was with Moses in fear and doubt, and He is with us in ours. God is not distant or unaware. He sees our struggles and hears our prayers.

God’s name reminds us that He is enough. Whatever we lack—strength, wisdom, peace—God is already what we need. He does not become something new to meet our needs; He already is all that is required. We can trust Him fully.

For Moses, knowing God as “I AM” gave him courage to obey a difficult calling. God did not promise an easy path, but He promised His presence. That same promise is offered to us today as we follow God in our daily lives.

When life feels uncertain, remember God’s name. The same “I AM” who spoke to Moses walks with us today. We can move forward with confidence, knowing that the eternal, unchanging God is with us every step of the way.
