Fruit That Grows Within

Galatians 5:22–23 says, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” In a world full of pressure and conflict, these qualities show what God’s Spirit produces in a believer’s life.

A gardener once planted a small tree in his backyard. For months, nothing seemed to change. He watered it, cared for it, and waited. Over time, small buds appeared. Eventually, the tree began to bear fruit. The growth was slow, but it was steady and real.

In the same way, spiritual fruit does not appear overnight. When we allow the Holy Spirit to guide us, He slowly shapes our character. Love replaces anger. Patience grows where frustration once lived. Self-control strengthens where impulses once ruled. This change comes from staying connected to God.

We cannot force fruit to grow by trying harder in our own strength. Just as a tree needs healthy roots, we need daily time with God through prayer and His Word. As we remain close to Him, His Spirit works within us.

Galatians 5:22–23 reminds us that a transformed life is evidence of God’s presence. When others see these qualities in us, they see a glimpse of His work and His grace.
