A Strong Tower

Proverbs 18:10 says, “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” This verse paints a clear picture of protection and security in God.

Imagine a small village long ago, surrounded by open fields. When danger approached, the people would run to a tall stone tower in the center of the city. Its walls were thick, its doors were strong, and from the top they could see trouble coming. Inside that tower, they felt safe.

Life today may not have physical towers, but it has its own dangers. There are worries about health, family, finances, and the future. Fear can creep in quietly, and sometimes it feels like there is nowhere to hide. In those moments, Proverbs 18:10 gives us hope.

“The name of the Lord” represents who God is—His strength, faithfulness, and power. Running to Him means turning to Him in prayer, trusting His promises, and remembering His character. We may not see a stone tower, but we can find shelter in His presence.

This verse reminds us that safety is not found in our own strength. It is found in God. When fear rises, we can run to Him with confidence. He stands firm and unshaken, a strong tower for all who trust in Him.
