Carried by God

There you saw how the LORD your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place. – Deuteronomy 1:31 (NIV)

Deuteronomy 1:31 reminds the people of Israel how God cared for them in the wilderness. Moses tells them that the Lord carried them, just as a father carries his child. This picture shows God’s gentle and personal care.

The journey through the wilderness was not easy. There were dangers, fears, and moments of doubt. Yet God did not abandon His people. He stayed with them every step of the way, guiding and protecting them.

Like a caring father, God carried Israel when they were weak. He provided food, direction, and protection. They did not survive because of their strength, but because of God’s faithfulness.

This verse speaks to our own lives as well. We all go through seasons that feel like a wilderness. When the road is hard and we feel tired, God is still carrying us, even when we do not realize it.

Deuteronomy 1:31 encourages us to trust God’s care. We may not always feel strong, but we are never alone. The same God who carried His people then still carries us today with love and patience.
